Braces and Aligners in Gurgaon

Reception at The Tooth Atelier, Gurgaon

Choosing between braces and aligners in Gurgaon gets confusing quickly, because every clinic in the city seems to recommend whatever it happens to sell. Both options work. The better question is which one fits your teeth and your daily habits. At The Tooth Atelier in Sector 31, Gurugram, we offer self-ligating metal braces, self-ligating ceramic braces and Invisalign clear aligners, so nobody here needs to push you towards one of them.

The three options side by side

  • Self-ligating metal braces. Fixed to the teeth, so they keep working whether you think about them or not. The self-ligating design needs fewer adjustment visits than conventional braces.
  • Self-ligating ceramic braces. The same idea in a tooth-coloured material, and far less visible from a distance.
  • Invisalign clear aligners. Clear removable trays that almost nobody notices. You take them out to eat and to brush, which makes daily cleaning easy.

The honest deciding factor is you

Aligners need 20 to 22 hours of wear a day. If you know you will leave them in a drawer after lunch, or if you eat and snack through a long workday, fixed braces are likely to give a better result. Teenagers and busy adults fall on both sides of this. If that level of wear is not realistic for you, the doctor will say so and recommend braces instead.

Timeline

Either route usually takes roughly a year to two years. Crowded teeth may need space to be made first, and sometimes that means removing a tooth. Your gums need to be healthy before anything moves.

Questions to put to any clinic in Gurgaon

  1. Who will plan my treatment, and what is their qualification?
  2. Will the same person see me at every adjustment?
  3. Which of my teeth will move, and which movements are hard to achieve?
  4. What happens if the treatment runs longer than planned?
  5. Which retainer do I get at the end, and for how long must I wear it?

To start you off on the first two: treatment here is provided by Dr Anjali Malik (BDS, PGIDS Rohtak), who sees her own patients through from start to finish.

The end of treatment is not the end

Retainers are not optional. Teeth drift back without them, and that is the commonest reason people end up repeating treatment years later. Our guide on retainers after braces covers the types and how to care for them.

Fitting it around work and school

Adjustment visits can be scheduled in the evening session, which runs until 7:30pm. To arrange an assessment, phone +91 93157 02965 or message the clinic on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Am I too old for braces or aligners?

Usually not. Teeth can move at any adult age as long as the gums and bone are healthy, so gum health is checked first.

Do braces hurt?

Expect soreness for a few days after fitting and after adjustments. Soft food helps, and the discomfort normally fades quickly.

Can I eat normally with aligners?

Yes, because you take them out to eat. You then need to brush before putting them back in, which is where some people lose wear time.

Are ceramic braces weaker than metal ones?

They need a little more care with hard food. For most people they do the same job, and the doctor will advise you based on your bite.
